VCI and Cefic have updated their documents on the ‘Lead Component Identification’ method.
The ‘Practical Guide’ with the step-by-step description of the ‘Lead Component Identification’ (LCID) method now also takes into account the new CLP hazard classes that came into force in April 2023. The method as such remains unchanged. References to the ‘Practical Guide’ have been adapted in the supplementary project report. Some of the examples included in the annexes of the documents have also been updated based on current data.
The LCID method enables the determination of safe conditions of use for mixtures based on exposure scenarios of ingredient substances. The supplementary project report summarises experience with the application of the method. Practical safety data sheet examples show how safe conditions of use can be communicated within the supply chains.
